RIVERSIDE — October 26, 2026. The Riverside Fire Department announced today that it will again partner with ABC7 and regional firefighters for the Spark of Love Toy Drive. Residents can donate from November 9 through December 11, with an application period for eligible Riverside families beginning November 16.
Where and when to donate
Riverside Fire says it accepts new, unwrapped toys, sporting goods, blankets and gift cards for underserved children and teenagers age 17 and younger. Fire stations are listed as donation points from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. when staff are available. The department warns people not to leave donations outside an unattended fire station. A main collection location is the Bobby Bonds Community Center, 2060 University Avenue, and other city community centers can assist.
For families who need toys
Registration is scheduled November 16–December 11 at city community centers. The city requires a completed application, a current valid ID, proof of residence within ZIP codes 92501–92508 and the child’s birth certificate. Distribution is set for Thursday, December 17, 2026. The city states one toy per child, while supplies last; eligible families should not assume every requested item will be available.
Beyond Riverside, Spark of Love collects donations for underserved families throughout parts of Southern California, but the specific eligibility process described here concerns the City of Riverside. For event sponsorship questions, the department lists 951-826-5111.
